Its a cold Sunday evening in November 2006, you're cosying up on the sofa with the latest Harry Potter movie. "Dinner's ready!" calls mum and you can smell the mouthwatering aroma of a tender roasted chicken, the sweet scent of fragrant and herby stuffing wafts through the air. You peak in the oven to see crispy roasties sizzling away and giant Yorkshire puds inflating in the toasty heat of the oven. Your mouth is watering as you try to sneak a taste of the homemade gravy your mums been working on for hours. She smacks your hand away and tells you to go set the table.
This is what our household looked like for many Sundays growing up, and the tradition of a weekly roast is enough to entice and bring back nostalgia with just the thought. This is the feeling Roast In Thyme strives to give its customers.
Coming from a family rich in culture, diversity and a great love of food. I've always struggled to find the taste of great British gastronomy on the halal food scene. This ladies and gentlemen, is how the concept of Roast In Thyme was born. We want to give the wider muslim community a taste of what a truly authentic roast dinner tastes like. My mother, a mixed race revert is famous in our family for her delectable and authentic roast dinners, and aromatic Caribbean food and my father, a Gujarati indian, famous for his samosa folding skills. It's through this beautiful blending of cultures, that my love for cooking stems.
